  1. PIPER'S WAIT - A black ink and gray pencil drawing on an 11 x 14 size vellum paper. It appears in the magazine, "Worlds of Fantasy and Horror, Spring, 1995.

The design of a drawing is important because it is an essential part of the esthetics of the artwork, it helps make the drawing more appealing to the eye. Many golden age illustrators embellished their drawings with decorative designs. So I thought I would do the same on this drawing.

In addition to drawing a decorative design to unite the two figures, I also decided to put the entire black and white drawing against a grey background with a black border to add one more element to the esthetics of the drawing.
